About the founder
Built by someone who lived it
Nik Page spent 13 years as a software engineer before doing his electrical apprenticeship. He finished it as a Licensed Master Electrician — and frustrated. Not because the trade was hard, but because the information wasn't there.
Nobody told him what he was legally entitled to earn. Nobody explained that adult apprentices and junior apprentices doing the exact same job on the same site are paid under completely different rate structures. Nobody mapped out where the trade could take him after he got his ticket.
He had 13 years of software experience and still couldn't find a single, reliable place that answered these basic questions. Apprentices without that background — most of them starting at 16, 17, 18 — had no chance.
That's why Apprentice Register exists.
A platform built specifically to give Australian apprentices access to accurate pay information, genuine career paths, and a professional profile that shows what they've actually built — not just a trade certificate.
What Apprentice Register does
Apprentices deserve to know what they're owed. That starts with pay — the minimum award rates set by the Fair Work Commission that apply to every apprentice in Australia regardless of state or employer. See electrical apprentice pay rates and how much apprentices earn across trades.
It goes further than pay. Apprentice entitlements include annual leave, personal leave, paid TAFE time, and access to government payments like the Australian Apprenticeships Incentive Payment ($10,000) and the Trade Support Loan ($25,983). Most apprentices don't know these exist.
Beyond entitlements, the platform helps apprentices see where their trade can take them — salary at each career stage, which licences unlock which opportunities, and what experienced tradespeople in their field actually earn.
The credentials behind it
Nik holds an unrestricted electrical licence and a Master Electrician qualification. He's also a software engineer with 13 years of experience building digital products. Apprentice Register sits at the intersection of both.
The pay rates published on this platform are sourced directly from Fair Work Commission official pay guides and cross-checked against Modern Award text. If something is wrong, he wants to know.
